How we work
Our approach is both friendly and professional, giving attention to detail whilst always keeping an eye on the bigger picture, and tailoring our advice to each client's specific circumstances, concerns and aspirations.
The relationship that we build with our clients is underpinned by our commitment to ensure that their long-term financial goals are achieved.
We believe it is important to have a disciplined approach towards developing a successful financial planning strategy and follow this process:
1. Initial meeting and review
On receiving an enquiry we would typically invite a prospective client to take advantage of a free and non-obligatory preliminary meeting. The purpose of the meeting is for us to establish whether and how we might be able to assist you and indeed for you to decide if you want our help.
You will initially get our help to review your existing financial situation and reach a realistic assessment of your likely needs. At this stage we will also provide you with full explanation of our costs and the service you can expect.
2. Needs and goal setting
We will carry out a needs analysis based on your current situation and objectives, taking into account any particular plans and/or targets you may have. This can be anything from a specific financial objective (such as inheritance tax, long term care fees, retirement income) to a lifetime financial plan.
3. Analysis and research
We will undertake thorough independent analysis and research to tailor an individual solution to your objectives.
We will then present you with comprehensive recommendations as to how you can best achieve and prioritise your objectives, and explain to you the reasoning behind these recommendations. We will then discuss these with you and agree the way forward.
Once we have agreed on how to proceed, we will help you complete all the necessary documentation, present you with a full report detailing our recommendations and the rationale behind them, and follow through to ensure successful implementation.
6. Forward planned regular reviews
We firmly believe that financial planning is not an event but a long term process, which can last to one's grave - and beyond. For this reason, we place a great deal of importance on regular reviews, which enable us to ensure that you not only remain on track, but also keep pace with any changes in your circumstances, objectives, and of course legislation. We will discuss and agree the structure of future reviews with you and the costs involved. This entire process has to be underpinned by a joint commitment from both Custodian Wealth and our clients in order to ensure the successful completion of their financial goals.
